United Nations secretary general Ban Ki-Moon will address Malawi's parliament, Speaker of Parliament Henry Chimunthu Banda announced during Tuesday's session.
The UN boss will also meet AU Chairperson and Malawi President Prof. Bingu wa Mutharika as part of his two day tour which will take him to a Millennium Village showcasing the UN poverty-reduction Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
“Traditionally, parliament does not meet during weekends, but this Saturday has been set aside, for the visiting UN chief,” Chimunthu Banda announced in parliament on Teusday.
Ki-Moon will leave Malawi for Uganda where he would convene in the Ugandan capital Kampala the first review conference of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The UN chief also said he planned to return to Africa twice more in June, first to South Africa to discuss the MDGs and attend the opening of the World Cup soccer tournament, which kicks off in Johannesburg June 11.
